While fans are eager for more news on Diablo IV, Blizzard has been cooking up another exciting offering to help ease the pain of waiting. Diablo II: Resurrected has already been captivating long-time players of the company’s immensely popular franchise, but it now has a release date of September 23 to seal the deal.

Diablo II: Resurrected is exactly what it sounds like – a full remaster of one of Blizzard’s most beloved titles for modern hardware. The original game’s 2D character models and flat, pixelated environments have been completely upgraded to glorious 3D on par with the much more visually attractive Diablo III, and it supports glorious 4K resolution alongside its remastered 7.1 Dolby Surround audio.

Luckily, although the game will feature massive visual improvements and stunningly recreated cinematics, it will perfectly maintain its original isometric hack-and-slash gameplay players have always known and loved since its initial release back in 2000. But while the remaster may not be changing the core gameplay in any way, quality of life improvements like automatic gold pickup and larger stashes will make this the definitive version of Diablo II.

Diablo II: Resurrected will release for $39.99 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X, Nintendo Switch, and PC. In other words, it doesn’t matter where you play, you’ll have a chance to experience this timeless classic in all of its fully remastered glory this September.

Billy will always claim he didn't intentionally get the platinum trophy in Snoopy's Grand Adventure, but he's lying.
