Easy Day Studios rolled out a new update for Skater XL last Friday, bringing an online free skating mode to the popular skateboarding game on every platform.

Skater XL‘s Online Multiplayer Free Skate Mode update is a free DLC that grants you the opportunity skate online in lobbies consisting of up to 10 players. By joining a public room, you can meet and play with other random players for some casual fun, or you can start or join a private room that other can join using a passcode. Replay editor functionality remains the same as it is in the single player experience, too, allowing you and your friends plenty of opportunities to save and edit slick moves or especially cool moments.

In addition to the 10-player multiplayer options, Friday’s update brought along some quality of life changes to the console versions of Skater XL. Most notably, a framerate boost should certainly make for a smoother overall experience on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One base model systems. And if that wasn’t enough, there’s also some new gear to check out from Dickies, New Balance, and more.

Skater XL is available right now for $39.99 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Keep in mind the game is also available to play via backwards compatibility on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S and X, so no matter where you like to play, you’re able to hop in and skate alone or with your friends right away.

Billy will always claim he didn't intentionally get the platinum trophy in Snoopy's Grand Adventure, but he's lying.
