We’re building a welcoming community here at Retroware where people can share their thoughts and opinions on a variety of gaming-related subjects, or just have a chat. To that end, we have a few basic rules to keep things as constructive and non-toxic as possible:
1. Keep It Classy
This site is intended for those thirteen and up; in general try to keep things PG-13 when posting and commenting. Some profanity is fine, but excessive use may be removed.
2. When In Doubt, Assume Good Intent
Language is a tricky thing as dialects and vernacular vary from place to place. With that in mind, if you’re not sure if a post is inflammatory, assume good intent. As a corollary to this, when you make a post, you need to have good intent.
3. Be Inclusive
Content that is racist, sexist, homophobic, or transphobic will not be tolerated and users posting said conent will be subject to suspension or banning.
4. Avoid Overtly Inflammatory Discussion
While some games may have overt themes that may bear discussing, donโt go out of your way to attack or incense people.
5. Keep it Relevant
Whether youโre posting in a thread, or on an article posted, try to keep the discussion to the topic at hand.
6. Be Respectful
Weโre all people behind the keyboards. Exercise consideration and understanding for the person on the other side of the computer.
