Following its initial digital release on PC and Nintendo Switch in February, Blue Fire has been scheduled to receive a PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia release in the coming months. While no exact dates for those digital launches have materialized yet, Robi Studios and Graffiti Games has announced their plans to bring physical copies of the game to two platforms this summer.
Blue Fire‘s physical release will launch on PS4 and Switch in June and be available at all major retailers, such as Best Buy, GameStop, Wal-Mart, Target, and Amazon. As of now, however, there has been no announcement regarding a physical version for the Xbox One, but that could always change in the future โ though you probably shouldn’t hold your breath.
This Zelda-like action-RPG did quite well upon launch and spent quite a bit of time topping charts upon release. It hung out in the Switch’s “Best Sellers” category for a bit, and it managed to claim the top spot on Steam’s “New Release” section and earn itself the honor of becoming the community’s most recommended game on the platform.
In my review of Blue Fire, I praised its precise controls and elegant platforming but felt that its dull combat dampened the experience a bit. Nevertheless, the game remains a solid effort from Robi Studios, and it’ll be well worth the price of entry for genre fans and game collectors when it launches physically on PS4 and Switch on June 25 for $29.99.
