Solo developer Jonas Manke – under the studio name InkyFox – will release his debut title Omno for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on July 29. Even better, Game Pass subscribers will get to dive in at no additional cost on the very same day.

Omno is a colorful and dream-like puzzle-platformer that tasks you with discovering the reason behind your pilgrimage through an ancient world full of mystical environments and towering creatures. The game doesn’t feature a combat system, resulting in a relaxing experience where use your time exploring, solving puzzles, and befriending the many small and large animals you meet along the way – all of which is made much easier thanks to the fluid movement that allows for running, gliding, slashing, surfing, and more.

For Manke, the end of this month is also the end of a 5-year journey to getting his creative vision fully realized and in the hands of players. It’s all the more exciting for him due to the fact that there was a time when he didn’t even think the game would be anything more than a personal escape.

I first started creating Omno just for fun – I mostly just wanted to make a world I could escape to after work. It was only after sharing some of the stuff I was making with friends and family that I thought maybe I could actually turn this into something people might actually want to play! Being here now, nearly 5 years later, with a successful Kickstarter campaign and a game about to launch on PC & consoles still feels like a dream to me.

Judging by the looks of this unique and vibrant adventure title, it’s clear Manke has put a lot of genuine heart and soul into his creation, so you’ll want to keep an eye out for this one on the 29th. Omno is also slated for release on the Nintendo Switch later this year, though an exact date has not been announced at this time.

Billy will always claim he didn't intentionally get the platinum trophy in Snoopy's Grand Adventure, but he's lying.
