Live Wire’s Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights has made quite a splash since its release a few months ago, and it seems the developer is dedicated to providing further content for fans to enjoy. Earlier this week, the Steam version received a free update with a variety of new content, which is also planned to release for the console versions in the future.

The biggest pieces of content included in the update are a collection of new modes. The Maligned Memories Mode functions as a boss rush, asking players to defeat a rapid succession of foes in a gauntlet-style showdown, while the Purified Memories allows you to rechallenge previously any previously beaten boss to earn resources. The Blightborn Mode allows for a wide selection of toggles to be switched off and on to adjust the game’s difficulty. You can turn off your ability to heal, make it so you die in a single hit, or alter the amount of HP enemies have in battle. This can even be combined with the fresh addition of New Game+, which lets you replay the game with all of your acquired relics and levels while providing a heftier challenge.

Another nifty new feature added in the update is an in-game movie player that lets you revisit story beats you’ve already seen. If you’re a fan of the game’s heart-wrenching tale, rewatching the somber cinematics will be a few button clicks away now. Meanwhile, a new end-game item called Blighted Phantom can be grabbed after obtaining the achievement “Journey’s End”, and a handful of quality of life changes – such as hitbox fixes and relic adjustments – round out the patch.

You can dive in and check out all of this cool new stuff right away if you own Ender Lilies on Steam, but if you have the game for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series consoles, or Nintendo Switch, you’ll have to wait a little while to get your hands on the update. Publisher Binary Haze Interactive hasn’t verified when we can expect to see these upgrades for consoles, but a vague promise of “soon” at least sounds hopeful.

Billy will always claim he didn't intentionally get the platinum trophy in Snoopy's Grand Adventure, but he's lying.
