Retro publisher Incube8 Games have teamed up with developer Ben Jelter to announce a new Game Boy title called The Machine, which will eventually release on a physical cartridge.

Set in an original dystopian world, The Machine will ask you to explore the innards of a massive machine, interact with the many people who inhabit it, and deal with the fallout of an election that could substantially alter life as they know it. Thanks to an aptitude test that you’ll take at the beginning of each playthrough, you’ll be able to experience the game’s world in a variety of unique manners – be it through the eyes of a factory worker, a police officer, or a number of other professions.

The Machine will be heavily focused on player choice, giving you an opportunity shape the outcome of your playthrough in a lot of unique ways as you get to know the workings of the machine and those who live within it. Multiple endings will be a major component of the experience, so working through the title more than once will be required to see everything.

No further information nor release date was given for The Machine. However, the physical cartridge will be fully compatible with Game Boy, Game Boy Color, or Game Boy Advance handhelds when it launches at some point in the future. If you’re a retro handheld enthusiast, this one deserves to be on your radar.

Billy will always claim he didn't intentionally get the platinum trophy in Snoopy's Grand Adventure, but he's lying.
