Dejima and Thunderful’s side-scrolling firefighting title Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue will hit PC next Tuesday, December 14.
Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue places you in the role of a female fire rescue officer who is trying to breathe some life into a local fire station. The game asks you to make the most of a 3-minute time limit to put out procedurally generated blazes across the city while trying to save citizens (and cats) from each location, though you can earn some extra time by extinguishing flame monsters along the way. Meanwhile, your axe can chop through obstacles, and your hose can be used as a makeshift jetpack so you can reach new areas.
This fast-paced and unique firefighting adventure blends together retro-inspired pixel art with 3D visuals for a rather compelling aesthetic. Luckily, you can admire it all as you explore burning locations such as dense forests, fancy hotels, multi-storied apartment buildings, and even moving trains! When you’re not out there dousing fires, however, you’ll be able to hang out back at the station where you can hire fresh faces and upgrade your equipment to be even more prepared for your future missions.
Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue will be available next week on PC, and it’s coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series consoles, and Nintendo Switch sometime next year. If you’re excited to dive in, you can go ahead and add it to your Steam wishlist right now in anticipation.
