Microsoft has announced that Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be heading up the January 2022 Xbox Game Pass lineup.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition is joining EA Play on January 6, and since all games on the service are also available on Xbox Game Pass, any fans of this classic sci-fi franchise who are subscribed will get to jump in immediately upon its arrival. It’s worth noting, too, that EA Play subscribers on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 can also check the game out on the very same day.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition combines the original Mass Effect trilogy into a single remastered package alongside most of the myriad of DLCs released for each game. In addition to substantial graphical upgrades, this enhanced collection features faster loading times, improved performance, skippable elevator rides, a photo mode, and a wide variety of other quality-of-life updates that help the games feel a bit more modernized.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition isn’t the only game landing on Xbox Game Pass this month, of course. Here’s everything coming to Microsoft’s subscription service in January:

  • Gorogoa – January 4
  • Olija – January 4
  • The Pedestrian – January 4
  • Embr – January 6
  • Mass Effect Legendary Edition – January 6
  • Outer Wilds – January 6
  • Spelunky 2 – January 13
  • The Anacrusis (Game Preview) – January 13

If you’re not an Xbox Game Pass subscriber yet, keep in mind that Microsoft regularly runs deals for new members, such as $1 for your first month. Sometimes you can even find it for $1 for your first three months. 2022 is guaranteed to be a great year for the service, so now is as good a time as any to dive in and see what the fuss is all about.

Billy will always claim he didn't intentionally get the platinum trophy in Snoopy's Grand Adventure, but he's lying.
