Maximum Games’ new isometric horror title In Nightmare will get spooky on PlayStation consoles on March 29, 2022.
In Nightmare tells the chilling story of a young boy who cuts off the world and falls into a deep sleep wherein nightmares have come to life to haunt him. Luckily, he has a small light referred to as his “dream spirit” to help him fend off the terrors, but he quickly realizes that his quest isn’t going to be that simple. In this narrative-driven experience, players will take control of the boy and navigate him through his own scary mind in an attempt to discover what truly lurks within his heart, hopefully saving him from drifting into eternal darkness.
Isometric horror games are certainly not as common as first-person or more traditional third-person experiences, but In Nightmare aims to be equally as scary despite its top-down perspective. Players will be asked to dig deep into exploration and solve a wide selection of environmental puzzles to help the boy escape his inner demons, though there also appears to be a bit of platforming and some unsettling action sequences that should keep tensions high throughout.
In Nightmare will land on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in March. You can grab the game digitally, of course, but Maximum Games is also bringing a physical version to select retailers. You can check out how and where to pre-order it on the official website.
