Horror fans have been thoroughly enjoying innovative independent developer Supermassive Games’ chilling series The Dark Pictures Anthology, a collection of games that are unconnected but share similar themes and concepts. Its second entry, Little Hope, was fairly well-received when it launched late last year, with praise being given to its strong characters, story, and atmosphere. However, if you happened to miss out on the experience months ago, you may have an extra method of checking it out right away.
As of today, Supermassive Games has implemented a “friend pass” to Little Hope. This feature allows players to play through the game via Multiplayer Shared Story mode with a friend who already owns it. Of course, there’s a small catch โ the game can only be played through in this way one time before you’ll be required to purchase your own copy. Considering that the game has multiple choices to make and endings to witness, the “friend pass” seems simply intended to whet the appetite of horror enthusiasts and potentially drive some additional purchases.
In addition, today also marks the release of the game’s Curator’s Cut, which features new scenes and perspectives for gamers who have previously seen everything Little Hope had to offer at launch. If that’s you, then you’ll want to redownload the game and dive back in for an opportunity for even more scares. Even better, the Curator’s Cut is free, so if you’ve already snagged this eerie title, you won’t have to make any additional purchases to get back into its many mysteries.
The Dark Pictures Anthology‘s first release, Man of Medan, is also available and quite a fun ride for those looking for some spooky enjoyment, and the series’ third instalment, House of Ashes, is incoming later this year. So whether you’re picking up your own copy or checking it out via the “friend pass”, now is a great time to give Little Hope a download and see what the hype is all about.
