Wonder Boy was quickly becoming a popular video game in the arcade and on home consoles, but Westone decided to follow up the speedy arcade platformer with an action RPG. Wonder Boy in Monster Land is often overshadowed by its sequel Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap but this now-classic retro game is an interesting look into the early days of the genre.
