Alex Kidd was a pretty big deal on the Sega Master System and Sega Genesis but there hasn’t been a release in over thirty years. That’s about to change with the newly announced remake of Kidd’s debut, which will be releasing on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It’ll be available on both Epic Games Store and Steam. There’s no reason for anyone to miss out on Alex Kidd’s return since it’ll be available wherever you play your games.

The remake was announced in a trailer shared on IGN’s YouTube channel. It’s not only a full remake of the game but players will also be able to switch between the original and new graphics, allowing everyone to grab a boost of nostalgia or to just see how far both technology and video games have come since 1986.

The game already looks really great and captures the style of the original release while also reimagining it with the graphics and sound that are possible today. I’m going to check out the original game while I wait for this remake, which will be amazing even if it’s only half as good as Sega’s most recent published games, like Sonic Mania and Streets of Rage 4.

Juno really likes video games. Horror is their favorite but she also likes other stuff.
