Those who grew up in the 80s and 90s no doubt have fond memories of classic beat ’em ups in the arcades and on their home consoles. During the height of the genre’s popularity, there were few franchises as popular as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the four brothers’ multiple brawler titles stood out as some of the best on offer at the time. Decades later, developer Dotemu is bringing back everything that made those games such a success, both for nostalgia seekers and new players alike, in their new brawler TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge.
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge was originally announced for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC last month, but today’s Nintendo Indie World Showcase stream featured confirmation that it’s coming to the Nintendo Switch, too. This exciting reveal was accompanied by a new trailer granting a fresh look at the gameplay for this highly-anticipated entry:
Featuring 4-player co-op and all the fundamental brawling mechanics gamers have come to know and love, TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge is certainly shaping up to live up to its predecessors. It’s sure to be helped along by its retro visuals, iconic locations, and a bevy of beloved supporting characters like Bebop, Rocksteady, Master Splinter, and as you might’ve guessed, Shredder.
Now that you know that the game is also coming to Switch, you can be guaranteed an opportunity to dive into this new nostalgic experience later this year regardless of what platform you choose. Cowabunga!
