Publisher eastasiasoft has picked up the rights to Rainbite’s upcoming twin-stick action title Trigger Witch. Even better, they’re confident the game will see your living room by this summer on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch.

With an art-style and isometric camera angle reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, it’s clear Trigger Witch isn’t shying away from its retro roots, aiming for a huge hit of nostalgia alongside its fast-paced, stylized action. Players will take on the role of Colette, who hopes to soon graduate from her academy of witchcraft and triggery. But when a man invades the realm and sets off a chain of concerning events, she must assume the role of action hero and blaze her way through hordes of enemies using raw firepower.

While you’ll be able to snag Trigger Witch digitally on all announced platforms, eastasiasoft has confirmed that collectors will also be able to get their hands on physical editions thanks to a retail partnership with Playasia. More details should arrive about pre-order opportunities for those versions in the near future.

In the meantime, Rainbite is promising plenty of bloody action, a ton of firearms, environmental puzzles to solve, drop-in co-op, and a dynamic soundtrack. It’s clear a lot of love and retro appreciation has been placed into Trigger Witch, so keep an eye out for it later this summer.

Billy will always claim he didn't intentionally get the platinum trophy in Snoopy's Grand Adventure, but he's lying.
