Good news for fans of catching and battling critters โ€“ developer Vewo Interactive Inc. has announced that its bringing the original Nexomon to all major consoles “soon.” The game originally released on mobile devices way back in 2017 before eventually landing on Steam in 2020.

Like many others before it, Nexomon doesn’t make much of an effort to hide its blatantly obvious adherence to the Pokemon template, but it does set itself apart with its vivid art style, an unexpectedly compelling story, and a few meaningful changes to the flow of the adventure. For instance, Nexomon offers players a choice between seven starters and features 300 total creatures to collect, train, and battle โ€“ quite a lot more than Pokemon provided in its first outing.

Nexomon was met with fairly high praise upon its initial release, with most reviewers considering it among the top tier Pokemon clones available on the market. It was later followed with a sequel called Nexomon: Extinction in August of 2020. Unlike its predecessor, Extinction is already available for all major consoles, so if you’re itching to dive into the series, you can get started right away while you wait.

While Vewo Interactive Inc. hasn’t verified an exact release date, “soon” seems to all but confirm that we’ll be seeing Nexomon on consoles well before the end of the year. Keep an eye out for it on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X, and Nintendo Switch at some point in the near future.

Billy will always claim he didn't intentionally get the platinum trophy in Snoopy's Grand Adventure, but he's lying.
