Indie developer Kid Onion Studio has announced their intention to launch a November Kickstarter for their in-progress project River Tails: Stronger Together, which they intend to bring to every major platform at release.
River Tails: Stronger Together will be a vibrant asymmetrical co-op game that places players in the role of either a cat named Furple or a fish named Finn. As the two heroes make their way home to fight off a threatening white wolf, Furple will be tasked with traveling through the woodland as Finn treks through the river. The limited information revealed in the initial announcement promises plenty of unique multiplayer mechanics, an ambient soundtrack, colorful biomes, plenty of secrets to uncover, and even boss fights to take on.
Deeper gameplay details remain non-existent for now, but it’s worth noting that the announcement only makes mention of “couch co-op”, so unless Kid Onion Studios changes their mind during development, it appears as though the game won’t offer any type of online functionality at launch โ or maybe ever. Even so, this 3D adventure sounds like a charming adventure for partners or friends to conquer, but we’ll have to wait until we see more on it to know for certain.
Kid Onion Studio has set a 2022 release window for River Tails: Stronger Together, so we shouldn’t have to wait an exceptionally long time to get your hands on this one. If you want to keep up with what’s going on with it in the meantime, you can check out the game’s pre-launch Kickstarter page, or you can head over to its official website to learn more.
