Annapurna Interactive and Giant Squid Studio’s action-adventure title The Pathless is finally available on Steam today.
The Pathless sees players take on the role of a character simply named “the Hunter”, a mastery of archery that has set off on a quest to dispel a curse of darkness that has befallen a mysterious island. She uses her Eagle companion to help her hunt corrupted spirits and cleanse them so that they can help her to restore peace and end a period of despair. To find them, players will help the Hunter navigate the island using multiple unique traversal methods that use her bow for speed and her Eagle for flight.
Most of the gameplay in The Pathless revolves around open world exploration where the Hunter finds herself solving a bevy of environmental puzzles spread across the multiple distinct biomes on the island. Many of them require careful consideration and thinking outside of the box, while others can be solved in a few short moments. Meanwhile, epic boss showdowns cap off the end of each area and lend an even grander sense of meaning to the story and worldbuilding.
The Pathless originally launched on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC via Epic Games Store, and Apple Arcade last November, so if you’re not interested in today’s Steam release, it’s still available to play on those platforms right now, too. There’s even a physical version of the game for PS5, if that’s you’re the type to collect disc copies.
