Gagex has launched its award-winning adventure game The Kids We Were on Nintendo Switch today. It was previously only available on mobile devices.
The Kids We Were placed players in the role of Minato, a young boy who sets off on an adventure during the Japanese Showa era (1980s). This updated console edition comes with a variety of new features, including a bonus episode that explains a mystery left open-ended in the original release. A selection of new collection items has also been added to flesh out the experience further, many of which Gagex hopes you will remember from your own childhood.
Following its mobile release in February 2020, The Kids We Were has earned plenty of appreciation for its intriguing world and quirky voxel art design. The game was one of the top 3 titles at the Google Play Indie Games Festival in 2020 and was chosen for the Best Indies category of Google Play’s Best Games of 2020. It also went on to win the Avex Award. If you’re a fan of 80s Japanese culture, or you simply love narrative-driven adventure games, this one might be right up your alley.
The Kids We Were is available today on Nintendo Switch for $15.99, and it’s also coming to PC on January 12, 2022. You can add it to your Steam wishlist right now in preparation for that release if you’d prefer to check the game out there.
