Image & Form and Thunderful’s new sci-fi exploration title The Gunk is available today on Xbox consoles and PC.
The Gunk follows Rani and Becks, two scrappers who explore planets in space to find resources that they can sell to make ends meet. When they stumble across an alien planet full of a concerning substance they refer to as “gunk,” they figure it might be worth navigating its treacherous landmass in hopes of finding something extra special. It doesn’t take long, however, before they realize they may have discovered a world with a surprising history that runs far deeper than they ever expected.
Exploration is the key component of The Gunk, so players are treated to a variety of unique biomes to search through, such as oppressive forests, eerie caves, and rocky canyons. As Rani and Becks try to learn more about the ancient civilization that once inhabited the planet, they’ll have to clear away the gunk and begin bringing back to life a vibrant ecosystem that has been waiting for heroes just like them to come along.
The Gunk is available right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X, and PC for $24.99. Even better, the game has released day one on Game Pass, too, so subscribers can check it out at no extra charge today.
