Gearbox Publishing and Norsfell have released their highly-anticipated cooperative survival-action title Tribes of Midgard on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC today.

Tribes of Midgard is set in ancient times and is overflowing with ancient Norse mythology, taking place during an era when the seeds of the great World Tree Yggdrasil have been scattered. Players are cast as a Viking who must set out to stop ever-growing evil forces that wish to find the seeds, destroy them, and bring about Ragnarök – the end of the world. If you’re up for the challenge, you might find tons to like about the game’s world, lore, and variety of expectations.

This top-down action game may seem simple on the surface, but it features gorgeous procedurally generated worlds filled with secrets to uncover, dungeons to explore, and enemies to fell. A quick glance at a trailer shows that Tribes of Midgard isn’t lacking in things to do, and to makes things even more exciting, you can team up with up to 9 other friends or strangers in co-op in one of the multiple modes the game offers. Survival Mode asks you to fend off endless waves of enemies, while Saga Mode requires you build, craft, and fight to fend off the impending end of life as you know it.

Tribes of Midgard is balanced around how many players are in a party at any given time, and with a wide variety of classes and playstyles available, you can be sure each run of the game will feel unique. If that sounds like it’s up your alley, you can grab the base version today for the very affordable price $19.99, or you can pick up the deluxe edition for only $29.99, which includes platform-specific weapons, armor, and pets.

Billy will always claim he didn't intentionally get the platinum trophy in Snoopy's Grand Adventure, but he's lying.
