Nintendo has announced that they’ve decided to push back the release date of Advance Wars 1 + 2: Re-Boot Camp to spring of 2022.

Advance Wars 1 + 2: Re-Boot Camp was announced earlier this year during Nintendo’s E3 Direct broadcast and was set for release on December 3, 2021. However, in a tweet sent out this past Friday, Nintendo confirmed that they feel that release date wasn’t viable anymore, stating, “The game just needs a little more time for fine tuning” and thanking fans for their patience.

This collection of the first two Advance Wars games has been built from the ground up to feature attractive 3D graphics and quality of life improvements that should make it the definitive way to play these popular Game Boy Advance titles. Thankfully, Nintendo has opted to keep the strategic grid-based gameplay almost exactly as it was all those years ago, so nostalgic enthusiasts will feel right at home when it finally hits store shelves next year.

As of right now, though, Nintendo has yet to settle on a specific date for the remasters, going strictly with a “spring 2022” window. It’s a bit of a bummer, of course, for long-time fans eager to get back to playing these beloved classics, but hopefully Nintendo is able to improve upon the games even further in the time before their final release date and make the experience well worth the wait.

Billy will always claim he didn't intentionally get the platinum trophy in Snoopy's Grand Adventure, but he's lying.
