A classic role-playing game from a galaxy far, far away has released today on Nintendo Switch.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has made its debut on everyone’s favorite console/handheld hybrid, marking the first time it’s appeared on a Nintendo platform. This beloved RPG isn’t sporting much in the way of enhancements, however, offering newcomers and veterans alike the true experience of the 2003 title for better or worse. Depending on who you ask, though, the game has generally held up okay in the nearly two decades since its original release.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic takes place in the era before the Empire’s rise to power. You take on the role of a force user and are given the choice to use your powers for good or evil in a journey that spans across eight well-known Star Wars worlds you can explore while leveling your skills and mastering lightsaber combat. You can even befriend a Wookie, so this isn’t a game you want to miss.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is $14.99 on the Switch eShop. Unfortunately, there is no physical edition available for this old-school title, so you’ll have to wait for the upcoming modern remake of the adventure announced earlier this year – though that version will be exclusive to PlayStation 5 and PC at launch.
